Research and Development

In collaboration with Dr. Alexander Martin Clark, Dr. Laurel Kuxhaus (Associate Professor of Mechanical & Aeronautical Engineering at Clarkson University) lead the initial design, manufacture, testing, and optimization of ALOD at Clarkson University. Adaptable Ortho Innovations (AOI) was formed in 2016, adding Scott Gucciardi as CFO and Steve Palin as CTO. In conjunction with Jalex Medical LLC, AOI has been able to achieve 510K clearance as of March 2021 on the developed adjustable tibial nail. AOI is now currently pursuing partnerships with strategic OEMs and orthopedic companies to commercialize this innovative, disruptive technology.
